I was introduced to this restraurant by my vegan colleagues at work and their meals have now become a regular treat for us. As a non-vegetarian, I was initially skeptical about it the first time but just went along with it. The experience however was amazing. The food is great and their chikn burgers and garlic fries are particularly excellent. I have set out to try everything on the menu and I am gradually getting there.
A fabulous find in Newcastle! Always a struggle to find a proper vegan restaurant while away from home but Vegano did NOT disappoint. A beautiful building and very inviting, well decorated interior welcomes you in. Although extremely quiet when I visited I'm aware this place gets rammed. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful and with an extensive looking menu with many choices. I had the ravioli to start and the ultimate chez burger for main. I was pleasantly shocked with the presentation of both and they were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, clearly created with love and attention. Portions are great too, I struggled to fit it all in! Unbelievable that this is an independent place as it has the feel of a wider well funded franchise. I would recommend Vegano in an instant to fellow vegans but also to non vegans as if you were blind folded you would literally never know. So glad I found this place and made a boring overnight work trip much more enjoyable
The young lady who served us yesterday (01/05/25) was an absolute delight. Never stopped smiling the whole time we were there. It's lovely when someone enjoys their job like that. Although the window faces a multi-storey car park, it is partially hidden by trees so I enjoyed the view on a beautiful day as I ate my burger (which was delicious). The background music was played at the perfect level to hum along to whilst not interfering with conversation and every song was from the 80s.
I had a fantastic pizza and praline affogato. One of the best pizzas that I’ve had - really light and tasty. Lovely service as well.
Had the Carbanara and Tiramisu, both tasted amazing. Service exceptional, welcoming and friendly. Recommend booking for a Saturday, was busy, which is always a good sign. Have already booked to come back again next month
Lovely food and nice restaurant. Good selection of meals and cocktails, missing cider but that's the only fault!
I tried the pepperoni pizza on special and it was very tasty! Good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. And all vegan which is great!
This is a rare treat. A delightful vegan restaurant in the heart of Newcastle. Plenty of parking in nearby Discovery Museum or across the road in the Grainger Town Car Park. Booked by phone before visit and a warm welcome to our table. Mixed group of veggies, vegans and omnivores - and everyone raved about the quality and flavours. Picture is of one of the burgers with one of special garlic fries - Very tasty. Others in the group had pizza and 'dirty' kebab which looked amazing. Highly recommended.
